Man injured in suspected shooting in Sibu

SIBU (Oct 24): A man was injured in an alleged shooting while waiting in his car to pick up his children at Jalan Wong King Huo here at around 2pm today.

A suspected bullet hole was visible on the car’s windscreen following the incident.

At the time of the incident, many other parents were also waiting at the location to pick up their children.

A nearby security guard, who initially mistook the sound of the gunshot for a vehicle’s tyre bursting, quickly realised the seriousness of the situation when bystanders saw the injured man lying by the roadside.

Witnesses immediately alerted the security guard, who then contacted the police.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment and observation.

The extent of his injuries is still unknown, and police are currently investigating the incident.
