Sibu driver slightly injured after car veers off road into drain

SIBU (Nov 28): A man sustained minor injuries when the car he was driving veered off the road into a concrete drain at the Sibu Airport roundabout last night.

Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Zone 4 Sibu chief Andy Alie said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 9.04pm.

“Four firefighters from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, led by senior fire officer II Winston Tan, were immediately dispatched to the location along with an FRT (fire rescue tender) vehicle.

“Upon arrival at the scene, approximately 3km from the station, the victim was found to have exited the vehicle without assistance and was in a stable condition,” Andy said in a statement today.

He added the victim only sustained a small wound on his arm and did not require serious medical treatment.
