Nicole Kidman and Daughter Sunday Rose Aren’t Giving in to the Short Hair Propaganda at the 2026 Met Gala

Families who walk the Met Gala red carpet together slay together, right? Isn’t that how the saying goes? Whatever it is, Nicole Kidman, 58, and her daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 17, proved it's true. The two just walked the 2026 Met Gala red carpet together in matching hip-length, sleek hair.

Although short haircuts have been everywhere for the last year (and are already the biggest spring haircut trend), it’s a nice change to see this ultra-long length. And for the night’s dress code, “fashion is art,” an exaggerated look feels very on brand. They accompanied these long locks with matching smooth, straight hair. Forget all the soft bends and old-Hollywood waves you’ve seen on carpets all year—these sleek strands look super striking.

Not only do the two share a look, but they also sat in the same glam chair. Hairstylist Adir Abergel worked on both Nicole and Sunday Rose, using Virtue Labs products to achieve the smooth finish. It makes sense: The brand is known for its hair-growth formulas (and has even won Cosmo beauty awards for its products).

Nicole is actually a co-chair for the museum’s gala tonight, and she chose to bring along Sunday Rose for her very first Met Gala ever. Personally, my mom and I go get our nails done for an early Mother’s Day outing. But for this A-list pair, the Met steps it is!
