A’ja Wilson’s Metallic Met Gala Look Is Giving MVP Energy on the Carpet

A’ja Wilson is at the 2026 Met Gala! The WNBA champion was on the host committee for “Costume Art,” and arrived at the event looking jaw-dropping in a textured, metallic gown with dramatic sleeves and matching gloves by Prabal Gurung.

A’ja told Essence ahead of the Met Gala that “it is going to be hectic for me because it is kind of at the start of our season. But it will definitely be special. It is my first one so I’m really trying to enjoy it.”

A’ja is known for her incredible style, and told Vogue, “Tunnel ’fits changed our whole league,” she says. “It brought a different audience and set of eyes to us.” She added, “There’s plenty of times where I’ve told my stylist, ‘I ain’t doing this. I need to pour into this scouting report before I put on a pair of heels.’ People should understand how powerful it is to walk into a game in heels, crush it, and put those heels back on. That is so powerful. That is women and I love that for us.”
