Alix Earle’s New Bambi Bronde Hair Is Peak Fall Color Inspo

When I think of Alix Earle, there are a few things that instantly come to mind: GRWMs, her sweet adopted dog Asia, and of course, her signature bright blonde hair. Well, here’s some news: The latter is officially so last season. The influencer-meets-beauty-brand-founder-meets-reality-star has entered her fall hair era and, like pretty much everyone else, she wasn’t immune to going darker this season. I was aimlessly scrolling on Instagram, as one does, and I noticed a very different hair color in her latest post... Bambi bronde, as she’s calling it. Considering fall is pretty much begging us all to go a little darker, warmer, and richer with our hair color, the timing couldn’t be better.

Earle has traded her usual bright blonde for a dimensional bronde (that’s brunette + blonde, BTW). She didn’t share exact details on how her colorist Jean Pierre Sosa and stylist Guillaume Boucher created her new look, but based on my ~investigative journalism~ skills, it looks to me like her roots and base are a rich medium brown and there are subtle caramel-y, golden tones throughout. The fawn-inspired shades keep the color from looking full-on brunette, but it’s also a distinct departure from blonde. Her hair looks soft, glossy, and—as the Bambi name suggests—very deer-in-an-enchanted-forest-coded.

Now, I don’t color my hair, but I do have an ever-growing collection of shades I’d try if the mood struck, and “Bambi bronde” is suddenly at the top of the list. (Welp, she’s an influencer after all. Job well done, Alix.) As a brunette, it would be a perfect way for me to go a little lighter without fully committing to blonde; if you’re a blonde, it gives you that richer, darker feel without veering totally into the brunette territory. Basically, it’s a win-win: much lower-stakes than a bold color change, yet you still get the effect of a dramatic hair transformation.

These types of warmer, richer shades are already shaping up to be huge this fall. Colorists have told Cosmo that the top fall hair colors are lived-in and low-maintenance, and Earle’s new shade checks both those boxes. Hairstylist Meri Kate O’Connor previously told Cosmo that dimensional blondes and brondes are high on the list for fall. “Gold, honey, and caramel tones are a nice way to tone down brighter, cooler blondes while still staying blonde into the fall,” she reported. So, if you’ve been considering going darker for fall but aren’t quite ready to commit to brunette, consider this your sign.

The Bambi effect isn’t stopping at hair, either. Bambi nails are also having a major moment, with soft, warm chocolate brown, caramel, and camel shades inspired by the coat of a fawn bringing the same woodland-core mood to your fingertips.
