Jeremy Dufrene’s Ex-Fiancée Reveals “Shock” at Lana Del Rey Wedding: “He Truly Is in Love With Her”

Lana Del Rey married her swamp tour guide boyfriend Jeremy Dufrene in Louisiana last week, and five minutes later (aka right on schedule) his ex-fiancée has popped up. During a convo with the Daily Mail, Kelli Welsh revealed that she was shocked by the wedding news—especially considering her and Jeremy’s long (read: looooooong) engagement. But ultimately, she’s happy for her ex and Lana, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

“I am in shock because we were engaged for 12 years, and he got married after one month,” Kelli began before adding, “But I am happy for him. He is a very protective, hardworking, manly man. He needed to get out of his comfort zone. He was used to bayou life and being out on the swamp. He is deserving of this blessing.”

Kelli also noted that Jeremy and the musician look happy together, saying, “It’s not a fake happy–he truly is in love with her. He has always been a giver so to have someone give to him, he deserves it. He is a very solid guy. I care about him deeply as a friend. His ability to love and care and protect people makes him so attractive.”

At this point, Lana and Jeremy have yet to speak out about their wedding, but their relationship is best defined as a whirlwind. The pair met on one of Jeremy’s swamp tours a few years ago and started dating in the spring. According to People, they obtained their marriage license on September 23—just three days before getting married.

A source told the Daily Mail that “Her friends and team did some digging on him over fears he could be using her, but his business is lucrative and he doesn’t need or want Lana’s money. They can see he treats her right and he’s very, very low maintenance. He gives her what she is seeking in a man and is romantic.”
