Exclusive: Keke Palmer Is Bringing Lady Miss Jacqueline Back in Three New Audible Originals
· CosmopolitanFor those of us who have spent our entire lives saying, “We can listen to Keke Palmer speak forever,” our dreams are officially coming true. The multi-hyphenate is bringing one of her most iconic characters/alter egos back to Audible for three hilarious new stories that also feature a cast of absolute all-stars.
Cosmopolitan is officially revealing Keke Palmer’s Southern Belle Insults is getting three new additions to its roster with some full-length audio-first titles that will be available starting on July 30, 2026. The release will kick off with Becoming Lady Miss Jacqueline and a new release will follow every two weeks afterward:
- Becoming Lady Miss Jacqueline - July 30, 2026
- The Weddings of Lady Miss Jacqueline - August 13, 2026
- Bereavement Committee - August 27, 2026
Lady Miss Jacqueline has been a beloved character for Keke ever since she first burst into the scene with her in 2020 via short-form videos alongside co-creator Max Wyeth.
"I felt like a has-been at the age of 18—that's not something people expect you to admit, but it's the truth. I had spent years as a child performer, and suddenly I was at a crossroads… the industry wasn't offering me space for who I knew I could be, so I had to build it myself,” Keke said. “I turned to digital and started piloting sketch characters putting them directly in front of audiences and getting data in real time. The audience was telling me something—that there was a place and an appetite for what I was creating.”
For Keke, now 32 years old with several Emmys to her name, a digital media network, and several scene-stealing moments on and off screen, the return of Lady Miss Jacqueline is not only a way to continue to build her empire, but also a way to stretch other muscles that she’s loved to work on for years.
“I grew up watching Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Whoopi, Eddie Murphy—those true
multi-hyphenate talents were my blueprints. Digital gave me the freedom to finally build my own modern comedy studio, create my own characters and worlds, and reintroduce myself on my own terms,” she continued. “Lady Miss Jacqueline was born of that reinvention and I can't wait for the world to get to know her. Audio is the next chapter of that reinvention. With Audible, Lady Miss isn't constrained by an algorithm or a runtime—she can exist across decades, in space colonies, in megachurches. The audio format gives her the room to be as big and outrageous as she's always been in my head.”
And not only did Keke get into character in the booth, she also fully channeled Lady Miss Jacqueline for the three covers for the stories:

Sheryl Lee Ralph, Audra McDonald, Danielle Brooks, Jenifer Lewis, Jackée Harry, Raven-Symoné, Michelle Buteau, and Yvette Nicole Brown have also joined Keke in this brand-new trilogy.
According to Audible, “Becoming The Lady Miss Jacqueline (July 30) finds the
possibly-800-year-old icon recounting gold-plated origins, shipwreck survival,
and feuds with historical royalty; The Weddings of Lady Miss Jacqueline
(August 13) features a multi-cast scripted series spanning six decades of
strategic matrimony from 1970s Malibu to 2089 space colonies; and Bereavement
Committee (August 27) shows Lady Miss battling a scheming church villain
with five dead husbands and an AI conspiracy in a New Orleans megachurch. Across
all three titles, Palmer delivers her signature blend of Southern satire,
cultural commentary, outrageous comedy, and unforgettable one-liners.”
