vivo X500 runs Geekbench, reveals a chipset schism in the line

The upcoming vivo X500 has seemingly been spotted in the Geekbench online database with the model number V2609A. As you can see in the screenshot below, the device managed a single-core score of 2,694 and a multi-core score of 7,770 in Geekbench 6.7.1 for Android.

It's powered by a MediaTek chipset that could very well be the newly announced Dimensity 9600M - or it's the Dimensity 9500 from last year, it's hard to tell since the differences between the two aren't very big.

The prototype which ran the benchmark had 12GB of RAM, but as always vivo may offer more options when the phone launches. One thing seems to be certain though - the vivo X500 will run Android 17 out of the box, with the company’s OriginOS 7 on top.

While the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max have already been confirmed to be powered by the new Dimensity 9600 Pro SoC, MediaTek's current flagship, the 'vanilla' X500 is using a lesser chipset in order to be cheaper. The trio will be made official in China on September 21.
