OnePlus Turbo will have the biggest battery ever put in a OnePlus phone

A few days ago, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, confirmed that the brand is working on a new lineup called Turbo. This was rumored before, and according to Li, the first device in the line would "inherit the powerful performance genes" of OnePlus flagships while also boasting the strongest battery life in its class.

If you've been wondering what exactly to expect from the Turbo in terms of battery capacity, today Li is back with an answer - of sorts. The Turbo will have the biggest battery ever seen in a OnePlus smartphone. This means it will beat even the Ace 6T's 8,300 mAh cell, the current record holder in the OnePlus lineup.

According to a prolific leaker on Weibo, this is going to be 9,000 mAh, and the first Turbo device will become available in China in January. The tipster also hints at the Turbo using the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC as the Ace 6T (and, internationally, the 15R). Another leaker has also revealed that the Turbo series will comprise two models initially, both with 9,000 mAh batteries, both with 165Hz refresh rate screens, and both using Snapdragon 8 series chipsets.
