Valve's Steam Controller finally has a price and a release date
by Vlad · GSMArena.comValve unveiled the Steam Controller back in November, and it didn't have an official release date or price up until now. Thankfully, the company has finally revealed these details today.
The Steam Controller will become available on May 4 for $99 / €99 from the Steam store. The Steam Controller comes with magnetic thumbsticks, a full set of inputs "to play your whole Steam library", four haptic motors "for high definition rumble", and an 8.39Wh battery that should last for over 35 hours on a charge.
The Steam Controller Puck that's in the box enables a plug-and-play low-latency wireless connection as well as easy magnetic charging. The Steam Controller can also be connected via Bluetooth and USB, by the way, you don't have to use the Puck.
The Steam Controller works with the Steam Machine, as well as Windows, Mac, and Linux computers, and tablets and smartphones running Steam or the Steam Link app. It also supports the Steam Deck, whether or not it's docked. The Steam Controller is trackable by the Steam Frame's cameras so you can use it to play non-VR games on a virtual screen.
