“The Reunion: Laguna Beach” brings the original cast of the groundbreaking reality series back together to commemorate the show’s 20th anniversary. In addition to Conrad, Colletti and Cavallari, viewers will also see and hear from Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Christina Schuller, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith and Alex Hooser, as they reflect on the “nostalgia, friendships and coastal backdrop that continues to captivate audiences to this day.”

A press release from Roku teases “untold behind-the-scenes stories, cast reactions to episodes of the original series and a present-day return to where it all started – Laguna Beach.”

Conrad told a crowd of journalists and fans at a screening event last month that she was initially “hesitant” to revisit her high school past, until she appeared on Colletti and Cavallari’s “Back to the Beach” rewatch podcast. “It was a really positive experience and it sort of started the conversation [about a reunion],” she said, adding that “enough time has passed for us to have a good perspective.”

“We had everyone on the podcast, but the one thing that was missing was getting everybody together,” echoed Cavallari, who also downplayed the longstanding rivalry rumors between her and Conrad. “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Lauren at this stage in life,” she said. “We’re moms and business women and we have so much in common. We have a lot more in common than I thought.”

Conrad, Colletti and Cavallari served as executive producers for the reunion special, along with “Laguna Beach” series creator Liz Gateley, who says it was “a dream” to reunite the cast.

“When I first pitched the show to my bosses at MTV, never in a million years did I think we would find such a perfect group of real friends,” she says in a press release. “The show not only changed my life and the cast’s lives, but the series meant so much to a generation of fans who’ve been waiting for this.”

As for what fans can expect from the reunion special, Conrad calls it “a wild, weird, cool experience.”

Colletti teases some nostalgic nods that “pay tribute” to the original early aughts show, revealing that the vibe when the group got back together was “similar to what we did back in the day.”

“It was such an innocent moment and we didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into,” he says, “but we always knew that Laguna was very unique.”

Officially titled “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,” the original MTV series aired for three seasons, from 2004-2006. While it was inspired by FOX’s scripted series, “The O.C.,” the show spawned its own popular spinoff, “The Hills,” which followed Conrad as she made the move to L.A. to pursue a career in fashion.
