“With our international productions, from the “Culpables” franchise, to “Love Me Love Me,” we’ve witnessed how a devoted literary community can translate into a passionate global audience,” said
Nicole Morganti, who is Prime Video’s head of originals for Southern Europe.

Morganti, in an interview with Variety last year underlined the fact that “No Place To Be Single” features “an Italian cast and Italian creativity that we are going to export around the world” and really has support from Prime Video International.

“No Place To Be Single,” which segues from the solid theatrical bow of “You, Me & Tuscany” in the U.S., is set in the fictional Tuscan town of Belvedere in Chianti. There, all the adult inhabitants are paired off except a single mother named Elisa (Matilde Gioli) who runs a vineyard, while raising her teenage daughter. Enter her hunky arrogant childhood friend Michele (Cristiano Caccamo) who inherits part of the estate and plans to sell it, while Elisa wants to keep it. This conflict “turns her life upside down and awakens new and unexpected feelings,” as the synopsis puts it.

“It’s a romantic comedy with an amazing cast and blends lightness, humor and emotional depth, celebrating love, second chances and the beauty of Italy,” noted Morganti. “One we believe has the power to travel and connect with audiences in Italy and globally.”

The Prime Video Italy original film is co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Rome-based Italian International Film.

The romcom’s tone is intertwined with the Tuscan landscape “that becomes a protagonist of the story,” said IIF’s Paola Lucisano. “Through a visually driven narrative with a strong cinematic feel, we have created a film that, while primarily aimed at Italian audiences, also aspires to reach international viewers who have always been captivated by our traditions, our colors, and our enchanting landscapes suspended between nature and art,” she added.

The “No Place To Be Single” delegate producer is Elisabetta Trautteur.

For Felicia Kingsley, “The adaptation of “No Place to Be Single” marks the moment when the story I imagined stops being mine alone and finds its voice on screen,” Kingsley said in a statement.

“It is no longer just a personal fantasy; it has become something tangible,” she added.

“The emotions born in my room, in my study, reach much farther than I could have ever imagined. I see it as an extraordinary gift to watch an Italian story speak a universal language and connect with audiences around the world.”
