Cara Delevingne, Cher and Jodie Turner-Smith Celebrate Burberry Flagship Reopening (PHOTOS)

by · Variety

On the eve of Lyle and Erik Menendez family members urging D.A. George Gascón to free the convicted brothers from prison, “Monsters” star Ari Graynor confirmed her ongoing support of their release after serving 34 years in prison for murdering their parents.

“I only just saw it, but I am anxiously awaiting the D.A.’s decision and believe very much it is time for them to be out,” the actress, who portrays lawyer Leslie Abramson, on Oct. 16 at the Burberry flagship store reopening in New York City, just hours after the Menendez family press conference with the brothers’ attorneys took place in Los Angeles.

“My fingers and heart are crossed that this is re-looked at because it certainly deserves to be in my very humble opinion.”

Graynor had previously expressed to Variety’s Marc Malkin that she believes the Menendez brothers should be discharged from serving life sentences without the possibility of parole for the 1989 first-degree murders of José and Kitty Menendez.

“I feel very close to them in this bizarre other reality,” Graynor said. “And I hear they’re extraordinary people who, as Leslie said at the end of the show … will make their lives meaningful and contribute beautifully to society. It sounds like from everything I’ve heard is that they are amazing. Erik is teaching meditation, they’re working on the [prison reform initiative] GreenSpace project. I would love to get to hug them one day.”

Graynor joined a bevy of partygoers decked out in plaid for the Burberry celebration in midtown that brought together dozens of stars to the store.

Cher led a crowd of notables that packed into the event hosted by Burberry chief creative officer Daniel Lee. Cara Delevigne, Tyra Banks, Anna Wintour, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Flynn, Jemima Kirke, Nicky Hilton, Kaitlyn Dever, AnnaSophia Robb, Luna Blaise, Jharrel Jerome, Iris Apatow and Sam Nivola were all spotted at the fashion soiree.

“I love the brand,” Flynn commented about Burberry on the carpet. “It is fun, elegant, and playful. Tonight is all about that and lifting up the flagship store.”

Jeremy O. Harris was just as excited about meeting up with his Hollywood pals at the rendezvous as he was about his upcoming film “Erupcja” with another famous friend, Charli XCX.

Elaborating to Variety about the production with her that she completed while working on the “Brat” album simultaneously, Harris said her artistry deserves applause for revolutionizing a political movement for the Kamala Harris presidential campaign.

“She’s someone I’ve been watching and has been a part of my friend group for a very long time,” Harris said. “And to see her getting this recognition while also staying true to her core belief is really inspiring.”
