Variety Hires Corbin Bolies as AI Reporter

Variety has hired Corbin Bolies as a business reporter covering the intersection of AI and entertainment, with a focus on how the technology is affecting film, television, music and media.

Bolies was previously a media reporter at TheWrap, where he covered the business of journalism and its intersection with politics and tech. Prior to that he covered media for The Daily Beast, and his work has also been published by the Associated Press and the Miami Herald. Bolies, who started at Variety on Tuesday, is based out of the New York office.

At Variety, Bolies will be the publication’s lead reporter for AI, delivering news, analysis and features about the biggest players in the AI industry and about how Hollywood is adapting to the rise of the most significant advancement in computing technology in a generation.

Bolies, who holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida, is also an avid lover of pop music.
