Dog Reportedly Left Behind By Owner After Moving Away, Still Waits Outside Home & Refuses To Leave

A recent post has caught the attention of netizens after a dog was reportedly left behind by its owner who had moved away.

The incident was highlighted by influencer and former teacher Mohd Fadli Salleh, who shared his thoughts after learning about a story claiming that members of the public had tried to get the dog to go downstairs, but it refused to leave.

Dog chooses to wait outside owner’s door

In the photo, an individual could be seen holding the dog by its collar while trying to bring it downstairs, with the incident believed to have taken place in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

“The owner moved away and left their pet dog behind. It’s heartbreaking to see the dog searching for its owner every day, even relieving itself all over the place.
“People tried to get the dog to come downstairs, but it refused. It wanted to wait outside its owner’s door, probably hoping its owner would return,” the caption read.

Fadli added that the dog was not aggressive, but had reportedly been urinating and defecating everywhere, causing some disturbance to the residents.

“Thankfully, an uncle stepped in, brought the dog downstairs and placed it in a cage while waiting for someone to adopt it. Apparently, someone has already offered to take the dog in.”

Fadli also reminded fellow Malaysians not to abandon their pets after moving away. He said that if pet owners can no longer care for their animals, they should instead find someone who is willing to take them in and care for them properly.

“Why treat a pet like this? Please don’t abandon your pets just because you’ve moved. At the end of the day, if you choose to keep a dog, please care for it for life. Otherwise, find someone else who is willing to continue caring for it instead of simply leaving it behind.”
