Seasonal watches can be difficult to justify when their designs only make sense for a few weeks each year. Halloween-themed accessories often rely on oversized graphics and bright colors, making them entertaining collectibles but less appealing for regular wear. For Peanuts fans who enjoy wearing character watches, finding something festive without giving up everyday functionality can be a challenge.

The Pumpkin Weekender brings Snoopy and Woodstock into Halloween

The Peanuts x Timex Weekender Pumpkin (TW2Y85800) features Snoopy and Woodstock preparing for Halloween on a cream-colored illustrated dial. Instead of relying on traditional horror imagery, Timex uses the familiar Peanuts characters to capture the playful side of the holiday.

One of its more interesting details appears when the lights go down. Pressing the crown activates Timex’s INDIGLO backlight, revealing falling autumn leaves across the dial. The effect adds another element to the Halloween illustration while making the time easier to read in darker environments.

The polished silver-tone case surrounds the illustrated dial, while luminous hands provide additional visibility. Timex pairs the watch with a brown natural leather strap embossed with bats, extending the Halloween theme beyond the watch face.

The brown strap and silver-tone case work well with casual fall clothing, particularly compared with accessories that depend heavily on bright orange and black. The Snoopy illustration remains unmistakably seasonal, but the watch doesn’t require an elaborate Halloween outfit to make sense.

For Peanuts fans who prefer the lighter side of Halloween, the Pumpkin Weekender combines recognizable character artwork with details that become more noticeable on closer inspection.

The Day of the Dead Weekender takes a more colorful approach

The Peanuts x Timex Weekender Day of the Dead (TW2Y85900) draws inspiration from Día de los Muertos, the Mexican tradition of remembering and honoring loved ones who have died.

Although the celebration takes place around the same time as Halloween, it has its own cultural meaning. Timex reflects the occasion through colorful Snoopy artwork and decorative details that distinguish this model from the Pumpkin edition.

The watch features a dark dial with a brightly colored Snoopy illustration, surrounded by a polished silver-tone case. The darker background provides contrast for the artwork, giving the Day of the Dead version a more elaborate appearance.

Timex pairs the dial with a black leather strap featuring paisley embossing. The strap adds texture without competing with the illustration, while its darker appearance gives the watch a different character from the brown-strapped Pumpkin model.

Like its Halloween counterpart, the Day of the Dead Weekender includes INDIGLO backlighting and luminous hands and markers for low-light visibility.

The Day of the Dead edition is particularly suited to Peanuts collectors who appreciate colorful character artwork. Its decorative dial and black strap give it an appearance that stands apart from Timex’s more conventional Snoopy watches.

Both watches share the same core specifications

Underneath their illustrated dials, the two watches share nearly identical specifications.

Each features a 40mm low-lead brass case with a polished silver-tone finish, a 47.5mm lug-to-lug measurement, and a 10mm case height. These dimensions provide enough space for the illustrated dials without requiring an oversized case.

The Pumpkin model weighs approximately 54.41 grams, while the Day of the Dead version weighs 54.5 grams. The difference is negligible, although comfort will depend on wrist size and individual preference.

Both watches use battery-powered quartz analog movements with CR2016 batteries. Quartz movements generally require less routine attention than mechanical watches, making these models convenient for collectors who rotate between several timepieces.

Timex equips both with mineral crystals and 50-meter water-resistance ratings. According to the manufacturer, they’re suitable for light swimming but not snorkeling or diving. However, the leather straps aren’t ideal for repeated water exposure, so owners planning to swim regularly may want to consider compatible water-resistant alternatives.

The watches also have 20mm lug widths, allowing owners to explore replacement straps. This provides some flexibility for anyone who wants to change the appearance of either model, although the original embossed leather straps contribute to their character.

The main differences between these two editions are their dial artwork, colors, and embossed straps.

Which Snoopy Weekender should you buy?

At $189 each, the Pumpkin and Day of the Dead Weekenders are aimed at Peanuts enthusiasts who want something different from a standard character watch.

The Pumpkin model is the more playful option, with Snoopy and Woodstock celebrating Halloween, illuminated autumn leaves, and a brown strap embossed with bats. Its lighter dial and warm colors make it a natural choice for anyone who enjoys the atmosphere of fall.

The Day of the Dead edition offers a more decorative design, combining colorful Snoopy artwork with a dark dial and black paisley-embossed leather strap. It’s a better fit for collectors who appreciate the visual traditions associated with Día de los Muertos.

Both watches provide conventional quartz timekeeping, INDIGLO illumination, and the everyday convenience associated with Timex’s Weekender collection. Neither requires buyers to choose between seasonal artwork and basic wristwatch functionality.
