Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 pyramid stage is heading for LEGO shelves. The fan-designed Daft Punk Concert has been approved for development as an official LEGO Ideas set, as part of a partnership announced on October 22. You can’t order it yet, and the finished design hasn’t been revealed.

The original build has more going on than two robots standing on a pyramid. Inside it, a motor turns a box made from transparent bricks, with lights hanging inside. That’s the part I’m most curious to see in the finished set: whether LEGO keeps the movement and lighting, rather than just the outline of the stage.

A concert stage with something moving inside

Patrick Harboun’s original LEGO Ideas submission describes a 2,000-piece fan model built around that rotating, illuminated box. It recreates the pyramid from Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 tour, with the duo positioned at their console.

Those details belong to the proposal, not a finished retail set. The final piece count, lighting, motor and minifigure lineup haven’t been announced. The images of the submitted model are labeled as a fan model, not the final product, so don’t treat them as a preview of everything that’ll come in the box.

Keeping the original mechanism would give you something to switch on after the building’s done. Whether it makes the jump from fan model to retail set is still unknown.

From a lockdown project to an official collaboration

Harboun and his son started the project in 2020. His son made a prototype with bricks they had at home, and Harboun expanded the design digitally. Their creation won the LEGO Ideas Music to Our Ears challenge that year. It later reached 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, and it’s now moving into official product development.

The wider partnership includes content and brand experiences as well as products. Its announcement film puts the helmeted duo in minifigure form, following a glowing red brick through a transforming landscape before reaching a brick-built console. The soundtrack pairs “Voyager,” from Discovery, with “Human After All.”

No price or release date yet

There’s no announced set number, price or on-sale date. The announcement ends with “More to come in 2027,” which isn’t a specific release date for the set.

If you’re already planning a spot for the pyramid, hold off on measuring the shelf: final dimensions haven’t been revealed either.
