A practical blade without the weight

The 0450 measures 7.4 inches open and 4.1 inches closed. Its blade is 0.121 inches thick, and the complete knife weighs 2.9 ounces.

Those dimensions give it more cutting length than a tiny folder while keeping its weight below three ounces. The blade has machine-satin grinds and stonewashed flats; the titanium handle has a stonewashed finish. Together, they give the 0450 a restrained look without additional handle scales.

The numbers establish the knife’s size and weight, but they cannot tell you whether its slim handle will be comfortable for your hand.

S35VN is established, not new

The 0450 uses CPM S35VN stainless steel. It is no longer the newest premium steel on the market, but the blade material is only one part of how a knife performs.

Heat treatment, edge geometry, sharpening, and the material being cut all affect the result. Without testing this knife, it would be a mistake to promise a particular level of edge retention or ease of sharpening. The useful buying distinction is simpler: if you want the latest steel specification, the 0450 may not satisfy you. If you value its overall design, S35VN does not automatically rule it out.

A manual flipper on bearings

The 0450 opens with a flipper tab and ZT’s KVT ball-bearing pivot system. It is a manual knife, not an assisted opener.

That distinction matters if you associate Zero Tolerance or Kershaw flippers with assisted opening. On the 0450, deployment depends on the flipper, detent, pivot, and bearings. The specifications describe the mechanism, but they do not establish how crisp or smooth a particular example feels in use.

Titanium is part of the lock

The stonewashed titanium handle does more than provide the knife’s appearance. The 0450 uses a titanium frame lock, meaning part of the handle moves behind the blade when it opens. ZT also includes a hardened-steel lockbar insert at the contact point.

It is a clean arrangement that makes the titanium part of the knife’s structure rather than a decorative outer layer. That said, the construction alone is not evidence of how this example’s lockup or disengagement feels. Those details require hands-on evaluation.

Pocket carry has a clear limit

The 0450 has a reversible pocket clip for left- or right-side tip-up carry. That accommodates either pocket preference, but the clip cannot be configured for tip-down carry.

At 4.1 inches closed and 2.9 ounces, its dimensions make a case for everyday carry. Whether the clip sits discreetly, the handle offers enough traction, or the slim shape suits your grip cannot be settled from specifications alone.

An older design with a purpose

The 0450 was released in 2015 as a production knife derived from the limited-edition ZT 0454, another Sinkevich collaboration. If you encounter the 0450 at a retailer today, you are looking at an established model, not a newly announced one.

Its age creates a straightforward buying choice. You can find newer steels and different locking mechanisms on more recent folders. The 0450 instead makes its case through proportions: a 3.25-inch blade, an all-titanium frame, and a weight of just 2.9 ounces.

The Zero Tolerance 0450 is worth considering if you want a slim titanium folder with useful blade length and minimal pocket weight. It is less compelling if your priorities are a newer steel, tip-down carry, or a different lock style. Its appeal is not that every component is the latest available; it is how much knife ZT fit into a lightweight package.
