The Moto Watch Fit 27 is Motorola’s index-card pitch: €119 to start, up to 12 days on a charge, and a fitness brain from Polar, the Finnish company runners have trusted with training data for decades. It lands alongside the Signature 27 phone, and Apple’s cheapest watch costs $249 and needs the charger every day. Motorola is not being subtle about the comparison, so neither are we.
Polar does the fitness math
This is the first moto watch powered by Polar, and Motorola used the partnership properly. Running Index, Polar’s score for running performance built from heart rate and speed, arrives on a moto watch for the first time. Around it sits the rest of the Polar stack: a Daily Activity Goal with its own activity score, Active Intensity Zones for training load, Energy Sources that break down where your fuel came from, Serene breathing sessions, Nightly Recharge recovery readings, Sleep Plus Stages, an Inactivity Alert and Smart Calories. The watch tracks heart rate and blood oxygen, pulls stress insights out of the data, and adds menstrual cycle tracking for the first time on a moto watch. Apple builds its fitness software in-house and spreads it across a watch line that starts at $249. Polar was scoring runners’ training long before the Apple Watch existed, and its best-known tools now ship inside a €119 watch.

Twelve days against eighteen hours
Battery is where the gap turns into a rout. Motorola rates the Fit 27 at up to 12 days in light usage. Apple rates the Watch SE 3 at up to 18 hours, the Series 12 at up to 24 hours and the Ultra 4 at up to 50 hours. Twelve days is 288 hours: twelve times the Series 12’s rated day, sixteen times the SE 3’s. The rating bases differ, since Motorola’s figure assumes light usage and Apple’s assume normal use, and the Fit 27 still wins by an order of magnitude. Charge it on a Sunday and the next charge lands a week from Thursday. An Apple Watch owner charges between brushing their teeth and getting into bed, every night, for as long as they own the watch.
Dual-frequency GPS at €119
The Fit 27 carries dual-frequency GPS, the precision positioning tier that holds a clean track between tall buildings and under tree cover. In Apple’s current line, dual-frequency GPS starts at the Ultra 4, which starts at $799. Motorola includes it at €119. Add more than 100 workout modes with automatic workout detection, plus an IP68 and 5ATM rating that covers swims, showers and downpours, and the hardware case gets hard to argue with at this price. Runners shopping Apple’s line for accurate GPS tracks are looking at $799. Runners shopping Motorola’s are looking at €119 and a Polar dashboard.
The screen, the straps and the assistant that isn’t here yet
The display is a 1.85-inch gOLED panel behind Corning Gorilla Glass 3, with 2mm bezels, up to 1,500 nits of brightness and a lightweight aluminum frame around it. Strap colors run to PANTONE Stratified Sea, Pigeon and Ballerina, with additional bands sold separately. Bluetooth calling works from the wrist. Motorola Qira, the assistant Motorola is building across its 27-series devices, reaches this watch in the coming months, so the launch story is the Polar stack and the battery, not an AI promise. What’s on the spec sheet today is what you’re buying, and the spec sheet is strong.
What the €119 price leaves out
The Fit 27 is not an Apple Watch replacement for everyone. Apple’s watches run a real app ecosystem, sell in cellular models that leave the phone at home, and the pricier models add ECG readings this watch doesn’t offer. The Fit 27 does none of that and isn’t trying to. It’s a fitness watch with a big, bright screen and a battery measured in days, aimed at people who train regularly and are tired of charging a watch every night. Judged as that, the package is complete.
Price and release date
The Moto Watch Fit 27 starts at €119 and rolls out to select countries across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific in the coming weeks. Motorola sells it as the moto watch 2 fit in some regions, so check the name on the listing if you’re ordering across borders. Motorola hasn’t announced a US price yet, and the North American rollout is part of the coming-weeks wave. When the US listing lands, the comparison that counts is against the $249 Watch SE 3, and the Fit 27 walks into it ahead on battery, ahead on GPS and carrying Polar’s name.

Apple still owns the smartwatch high ground: the apps, the cellular options, the polish, the ecosystem gravity that keeps iPhone owners buying the same brand. The Fit 27 attacks a different flank and attacks it well. It gives runners Polar’s training science, dual-frequency GPS and a battery that lasts twelve times longer than a Series 12’s, at less than half the SE 3’s starting price. If your watch dies nightly and your training already lives outside Apple’s apps, Motorola just made the €119 argument very hard to walk past.
