Illegal vapes, cannabis-based products worth €3m seized

Gardaí have seized €3 million worth of illegal vapes and cannabis-based products following searches in properties in a number of counties.

The searches were carried out on Wednesday in counties Longford, Mayo, Roscommon, Wexford and Carlow as part of an operation targeting organised crime.

More than 100 gardaí were involved in the searches and among the items seized were illegal vapes and cannabis-based products with an estimated street value of more than €3m. They are to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for an analysis.

A number of high-value vehicles were also seized, as well as more than €235,000 in cash, £3,000 in sterling and $3,500 in US dollars.

Gardaí say that no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
