Man, 30, dies following assault in Belfast
· RTE.ieA 30-year-old man who was assaulted in the Suffolk Road area of west Belfast last week has died.
Carl Holland, who was from the local area, was taken to hospital after sustaining a serious head injury when he was punched outside a licensed premises in the city last Friday, police said.
A 20-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and a 46-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.
All three have been released on bail to allow for further inquiries.
PSNI Detective Inspector Collins said a verbal verbal altercation had occurred inside the licensed premises earlier on the evening of 12 June and that at around 9pm a man arrived by taxi and "punched" Mr Holland before leaving in the taxi.
He said police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information to come forward.
"I am asking anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to get in touch.
"I’m particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault, or the earlier altercation, and who may have captured footage, whether CCTV, mobile phone or dash cam."
