Motorcyclist dies following road crash in Co Cork
· RTE.ieA motorcyclist has died following a road traffic collision in Ballyhea, Co Cork yesterday evening.
The crash, which involved a jeep, happened on the N20 in the Castlewrixon area at around 8pm.
The driver of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The driver of the jeep, a man aged in his 80s, was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The road where the crash happened has been closed for a garda examination and diversions are in place.
An appeal for information has been issued and gardaí are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
They are asking road users who were travelling in the area between 7.15pm and 8pm and who may have dash cam footage to make it available to them.
