Two gardaí hospitalised after processing vape products

Two gardaí have been hospitalised after becoming unwell while processing seized vape products at a garda station in Co Offaly.

Both gardaí were involved in processing the products seized from a commercial premises during an investigation.

They became unwell while on duty at Edenderry Garda Station.

The two male gardaí are under medical assessment in the hospital.

Gardaí are providing welfare support to them and their families at this time.

Edenderry Garda Station will remain closed pending further examination and specialist deep cleaning tomorrow.

Policing services in the area are being provided from Tullamore Garda Station.
