A major cybersecurity conference will be held in Dublin today as part of Ireland's EU Presidency.

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) will host the event at a time of heightened concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on cybersecurity.

In recent months, there has been a series of reports of rogue AI agents hacking systems.

Today's conference will hear from representatives from tech companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic.

Other speakers include senior representatives from government, EU institutions, academia and the wider European cybersecurity community.

The conference will explore the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape, with a strong focus on European cyber resilience, security and competitiveness.

"Key discussions will examine digital sovereignty and supply chain resilience, cybersecurity regulation, AI and emerging technologies, and their implications for European security," organisers said.

"The programme will also address the growing impact of ransomware and cybercrime, including the economic consequences for Ireland and the UK, international cooperation, cyber diplomacy and the realities of leading through a cyber crisis," they added.
