Overnight crash in Limerick leaves one dead
· RTE.ieA person has died in a crash involving a car and a lorry in Co Limerick.
The crash happened on the N20 road in the Bruree area at around 2am this morning.
The person driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man, aged in his 20s, who was driving the lorry is being treated for what were described as non-life-threatening injuries at University Hospital Limerick.
The N20 road between O'Rourke's Cross and Banogue is closed as gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the scene.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone travelling on the N20 in the Bruree area between 1.40am and 2.15am to contact them.
Any road users with camera footage are asked to make that footage available to gardaí.
