How the left is fueling the violent war against England’s Jews

· New York Post

It’s now undeniable: A war against England’s Jews is underway.

Mobs of antisemites are raining hellfire and savagery on my country’s peaceful, decent Jewish population.

Synagogues have been firebombed.

Jews have been murdered by radical Islamists.

And Wednesday brought a frenzied knifing attack on two visibly Jewish men in London.

This is a moral emergency.

For me, there is no doubt whatsoever: The left’s frothing demonization of Israel has endangered our Jewish compatriots.

If you want to know where the scourge of Israelophobia can lead, what horrors it can unleash, look no further than the United Kingdom.

Wednesday’s antisemitic atrocity was truly unnerving.

In Golders Green, a part of London with a large Jewish population, a man with a knife jabbed ferociously and randomly at two men — one in his 70s, the other in his 30s.

Both were seriously injured.

Their “crime”? They were out, proud Jews on the streets of London.

Terrifyingly, that has become a risky business in 21st-century Britain.

Police are treating the knife pogrom as a terrorist attack.

And it’s not an isolated incident.

Indeed, the victims of this fascistic assault were treated by volunteers from Hatzolah, the nonprofit medical emergency service that serves Jews and others across the UK.

Just last month, four Hatzolah ambulances were incinerated in the dead of night by masked Jew-haters who doused the vehicles in petrol and set them alight.

In modern-day Britain, Jews knifed in broad daylight by racist monsters are then looked after by medical charities which themselves have been subjected to fiery, fascistic assault.

Over the past fortnight, two London synagogues and a local Jewish charity have suffered firebombings.

The message is as clear as it is barbarous: Jews are not welcome in Britain.

And the most shocking thing has been the sniveling silence of “progressives” in the wake of those attempted mini-Kristallnachts.

These keffiyeh-wearing, hyper-woke people see “fascism” everywhere.

They think everything from the vote for Brexit to the election of Donald Trump is “just like the 1930s.”

Yet when something happens that really does echo the 1930s, they shrug their shoulders.

To them, everything is fascism except fascism.

Only last year — in October, on Yom Kippur — two Jews were killed in an Islamist assault on a synagogue in Manchester.

A killer literally named for “jihad,” Jihad al-Shamie, slaughtered them on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

None of these attacks happened in a vacuum.

They were underpinned — I would say energized — by the broader, swirling culture of Islamo-leftist hatred for the Jewish state and everyone who supports it.

Indeed, mere hours after those two Jews were put to death in Manchester, leftist mobs were on the streets chanting “Globalize the intifada!”

Two dead Jews weren’t enough for them; they wanted the annihilation of Israel itself.

They rubbed the salt of Israelophobia into the wound of violent Jew hate.

Jewish friends of mine in the UK have for years been sounding the alarm about the rise of Islamist and leftist antisemitism.

They begged “progressives” to stop chanting for more intifada, rightly calling it a cry for violence against Jews.

They said it’s dangerous to demonize Zionists as “genocidal racists,” given most British Jews identify as Zionists.

It hangs a target sign around our necks, they said.

Yet they were ignored.

They were insulted.

They were accused by progressives of “weaponizing antisemitism” to silence “criticism of Israel.”

This dismissive attitude was worse than callous — it actively endangered Jews.

It emboldened violent antisemites by telling them they were right: The Jews really are a cynical, self-pitying people who “weaponize antisemitism” to protect their precious homeland from criticism.

It was obscene.

London’s police are now investigating whether the recent attacks on Jews were funded or encouraged by Iran.

The possibility that the mullahs of Tehran are financing the persecution of Jews in England is disturbing beyond belief.

King Charles III this week is visiting the United States, making the case for stronger solidarity between the US and the UK.

Here’s his chance to take a stand.

Together with President Donald Trump, the king should make it clear that our two nations virulently oppose the disease of Jew hatred.

They should denounce Islamist bigotry and leftist lunacy, and absolutely defend the right of the Jewish nation and the Jewish diaspora to live in peace and security.

How about it, Your Majesty?

Let’s make a show of Anglo-American civilization by firmly condemning its antisemitic, anti-Western enemies.
