Biden calls Trump supporters ‘garbage,’ reminding us what most Dems think
· New York PostJoe Biden finally said out loud the quiet part of what most Democratic bigs believe: If you vote for Donald Trump, you’re “garbage.”
So blathered the current president (remember him?) during a campaign call even as Veep Kamala Harris was set to give her big “closing argument” speech in DC.
“The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump’s] supporters,” said Joe, trying to hit Trump over insult comic Tony Hinchcliffe’s moronic remarks about Puerto Rico during the MSG rally.
It’s Hillary’s “basket of deplorables,” all over again — and it may be the most consequential gaffe in a career filled with them for Biden.
No sooner had Joe shot his mouth off than the media leapt into damage control mode.
Politico outright lied, altering Biden’s word’s to make it seem like he was criticizing the “hatred” of some Trump supporters.
Countless panicked lefties on X and elsewhere then fantasized an apostrophe into the word “supporters” and blamed the president’s stutter.
The White House itself took that insane line, putting out a transcript of the call with this nonsensical reading added in.
Sorry, guys. Everyone heard what Joe said (or could check the video for themselves) and everyone knew what he meant.
The newest defense? Well, Trump says bad stuff too!
Hmmmm: We can’t recall him ever directly calling half the country “garbage.”
Yes, he’s said Jews who don’t vote for him should “have their heads examined.” Then again, Harris pretty clearly passed on her best VP option because he was Jewish, so maybe Trump has a point.
And it’s not like Dem elites’ hatred of voters is new information.
Hillary had her “deplorables” in 2016, and Dem messaging since then has increasingly led with scolding and shaming anyone who dares to question their brilliance and wisdom.
Point out the open-border disaster? Racist.
Worry about gender transitions for kids? Bigot.
Object to terrorists in college classrooms? Colonizer.
This. Is. What. Dems. Believe.
Partly from elitist conviction. And partly because, in some dim, visceral way, they know they have nothing to offer on policy except more crime, more inflation, more global chaos.
That’s why, even as Trump has recaptured momentum in the polls and this knife-edge race for prez draws to its close, they’re still viciously insulting people instead of trying to convince them.
It’s all they have.
And if Trump wins, it will be a major reason why.
