Gunfire shatters windshield of NYC mom’s car, leaving two kids injured: cops

Two kids were cut with glass fragments when gunfire shattered the windshield of their mom’s car in the Bronx over the weekend, police said.

The mom, 33, was driving north on Beach Avenue near the Cross Bronx Expressway intersection in Soundview around 7:45 p.m. Saturday when a flurry of bullets rang out, authorities said.

The slugs broke the car’s rear window, with shards of glass hitting a 10-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy sitting in the back seat – the only other people in the vehicle, police said.

Both kids were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition and treated for minor injuries, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear whether the mom’s car was targeted or simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.
