I’ve tried dozens of facial hair products, but this is the one that’s always in my rotation
· New York PostI like to have fun with my facial hair.
For the past 10-plus years, I’ve jumped around from being bare-faced to rocking a ’70s-style stache and a modest beard. The mustache is mostly attention-seeking; the bare face is to appease my parents, but the beard has always been for me. It’s when I feel (and look) most like myself. I’ve never gone for the fuller lumberjack style, but I’m always my most confident and comfortable when sporting a little scruff.
My decision to keep a beard is not just from being too lazy to shave — far from it!
Maintaining a well-manicured beard is actually way more work than being clean-shaven. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars and years of testing to find the products that keep my beard looking, feeling, and even smelling the way I want it to. Although I don’t think I’m ever going to stop experimenting, I have found one product that has become a mainstay in my skincare routine when I’m sporting my beard: Jack Black Beard Oil
Jack Black Beard Oil
Made from a blend of botanicals and essential oils, it’s designed to soften brittle facial hair. Although it’s free from parabens and synthetic fragrance, the natural ingredients leave your beard feeling fresh and smelling great without being overpowering.
I also love that it’s made from basic ingredients I can actually pronounce, rather than chemicals that leave me unclear on what I’m rubbing all over my face. The list includes: Kalahari melon oil, Marula fruit oil, carrot extract, brown algae extract, vitamin E and plum oil.
Although I get hundreds of pitches for facial hair products on a monthly basis, it was actually my father who introduced me to the Jack Black brand. In my years of testing, I have tried oils and creams that cost hundreds of dollars, but don’t come close to delivering the same results.
I struggle with dry skin and flakiness whenever I grow out my beard, so the right products are key. Jack Black’s beard oil leaves my facial hair hydrated and looking lush. It was a noticeable difference for me after the first use. It made my beard slightly glisten without making it look or feel greasy.
If I’m ever tasked with listing out beard care essentials, you already know what will be at the very top of that list.
