Luka Doncic’s ex-fiancée’s child support case dismissed following snarky exchange in court

Anamaria Goltes’ petition for child support from Luka Doncic was formally dismissed on Friday, but the disposition didn’t come without a little spice.

Attorneys for the Lakers superstar and his ex-fiancée appeared remotely in a Los Angeles County courtroom, and Doncic’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, jabbed at Goltes’ rep, Evan C. Itzkowitz, right away.

Judge Melissa C. Lyons asked Wasser about her desire to quash and/or dismiss Goltes’ case, and quickly, Wasser used the opportunity to say Goltes and Itzkowitz had wasted her and her client’s time by initiating the matter.

“I believe that was in our paperwork, your honor, that this never should have been filed in the first place,” said Wasser, a high-powered divorce attorney who’s been nicknamed the “Disso Queen.”

“But I believe that Mr. Itzkowitz is about to tell you that he’s requested a dismissal of the entire action, and you don’t even need to rule on our motion to quash. Is that correct, Mr. Itzkowitz?”

Itzkowitz then acknowledged that Wasser was indeed “correct,” before he explained to the court that he previously tried to have the case dropped on Aug. 3.

“We actually filed it and it was rejected for lack of signature by Mr. Doncic, which is not required,” Itzkowitz said. “We have resubmitted it based on a recommendation by a clerk.”

Moments later, Lyons granted the request for dismissal without prejudice, meaning the case can be refiled at a later date. Both Wasser and Itzkowitz then thanked the court and logged off.

The hearing ended a nasty California court battle between Doncic and Goltes that began on March 9.

Goltes on that date formally requested child support from Doncic — a public filing that forced the six-time NBA All-Star to acknowledge his split from the Slovenian model and influencer.

Weeks later, Doncic hired Wasser, who then promptly asked the court to dismiss the case by stating that Goltes’ “California Petition is a clear attempt to forum shop and avail herself of the generous amounts of child support for which California is well-known.”

In her Aug. 3 request to withdraw her petition, Goltes wrote that she wanted to resolve her dispute with Doncic “amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children.”

She’s reportedly since asked for $50 million from Doncic to settle the issue.
