Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs faces sexual abuse charges: Letters to the Editor— Sep. 21, 2024

· New York Post

The Issue: A new federal indictment filed against rapper Sean Combs for sexual abuse and trafficking.

Are we really surprised by the criminal allegations against Sean “P. Diddy” Combs of a depraved, sex-fueled reign of terror (“Down & dirty at Diddy’s,” Sept. 20)?

This has been an open secret for decades.

One has to ask: Where have the “Me, Too” movement’s women been?

P. Diddy makes Jeffrey Epstein look like Mother Teresa.

It’s shocking that Sean Combs is being held without bail here in the city.

He poses no threat to anyone, while individuals with numerous arrests are free to roam our streets.

Many of them go on to commit crimes, often assaults on peaceful citizens.

Thank you, liberals, for tipping the balance of public safety in favor of the criminals.

Who knew Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein had so much catching up to do?

The allegations of perverse sexual violence against Sean Combs are so severe that Cosby and Weinstein seem like amateurs in comparison.

Combs is in serious trouble.

Soon, we’ll likely hear the claim that he’s being persecuted because he’s a successful, wealthy black man — it’s his only shot.

My son attends high school in New York, and I’ve overheard him joking about “Diddy parties” and “freak-offs” while playing video games with his friends.

I Googled what these were, and I’m shocked, appalled and disgusted.

A thousand bottles of baby oil?

That’s utter insanity.

And to think I used to casually listen to P. Diddy’s music in the 2000s without giving it a second thought.

P. Diddy needs to be locked up, and his connections to other celebrities must be investigated.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Diddy operated like Jeffrey Epstein, using videotapes of sexual assaults not just for pleasure, but also to extort powerful celebrities and figures.

I met Diddy at Washington Square Park while he was greeting fans.

It is crazy to also know that he’s an alleged rapist and sex trafficker.

The Issue: Justin Timberlake’s plea bargain in regards to his intoxicated driving case in Sag Harbor.

The lead prosecutor in the debacle that is singer Justin Timberlake’s DUI case is nothing short of a disgrace (“Courtin’ Justin,” Sept. 15).

His office must have carefully reviewed the quality of the evidence.

Had they determined it was untrustworthy or unlikely to meet the burden of proof, a downgrade or dismissal would have been reasonable, if not mandatory.

However, he allowed the case to proceed with a sweetheart deal.

It defies common sense to believe that such a misapplication of justice would have been extended to the ordinary citizen, and we certainly shouldn’t expect it to be.

Drunk driving is a constant threat to us all, but this charlatan of a public prosecutor couldn’t care less.

Timberlake made a dangerous decision to drink and drive in Sag Harbor, and he paid the price.

However, imagine how many other crimes that are committed nationwide are just as, if not more, egregious.

Plea bargains are common, however — even in felonies.

I don’t think this case deserves more coverage than the other major felonies that have been committed during the same period.

People should get over it.
