SEC only has itself to blame for its looming College Football Playoff reality

· New York Post

There is a world where the SEC has two entrants in the expanded College Football Playoff.

A world where this superpower conference that added Oklahoma and Texas to an already loaded league sends just its champion and one at-large.

Sorry, Greg Sankey. Results matter. Wins and losses outweigh strength of schedule, and your narrative of superiority.

The SEC will be furious if that happens, but it can only fault its own teams. Blame Alabama for not showing up Saturday night at shaky Oklahoma and suffering its first loss since 1984 to Vanderbilt. Fault Ole Miss for losing to crummy Kentucky and also-ran Florida. Or Texas A&M falling to under-.500 Auburn.
