Channel 4's new horror outing, Generation Z, may have delivered zombies and chaos this Sunday, October 27, but not all viewers were dying for more.

Directed by Ben Wheatley, known for his work on films like A Field in England and Kill List, the series began its creepy crawl over Danbury, a place otherwise dull and grey.

The town's quietness was shattered when an army convoy accident led to a chemical leak affecting a local care home, turning elderly residents into ruthless predators targeting their carers and seeking fresh victims outside.

The six-part horror-comedy spectacle stars household names Sue Johnston, Robert Lindsay, Anita Dobson, and Johnny Vegas.

However, it has garnered mixed reactions from viewers who didn't hesitate to voice their opinions online.

Social media was bustling with comments about Generation Z, which ranged from disapproval to outright dismissal. One user posted: "I gave it half an hour, but not for me. #generationz."

Another frustrated viewer shared, "#Generationz, what a load of rubbish," and a third added to the criticism: "Is the dialogue improvised? I had to put subtitles on to understand what they were saying, but still not rocking my boat. I have no idea what's going on," reports the Mirror.

Fleeing far from the undead apocalypse, one viewer stated: "#GenerationZ Gave up after 5 mins... I'm waiting for a repeat of #CelebrityGogglebox."

"While another echoed a similar sentiment: "Turned it off at the ad break. #generation."

However, some viewers were thoroughly entertained by the show, with one fan commenting: "Really good so far! " Another agreed, saying: "Everything about this is iconic, I love it #GenerationZ."

A third enthusiastic viewer tweeted: "Loving #generationz. Thank you @Channel4".
