ITV I'm A Celebrity fans issue complaint as they tell ITV show bosses to 'stop it'

I'm A Celebrity returned to the screen, with Ant and Dec welcoming ten new campmates into the Australian wilderness. The premiere saw the contestants divided into two groups – one arriving at an opulent villa and the other at a scenic beach.

As the inaugural episodes aired, viewers were puzzled by ITV's choice of overly dramatic music. Perplexed fans took to social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, to share their reactions.

One viewer commented: "Whoever is responsible for the music on I'm a celeb are getting too carried away... Why are they playing a dramatic version of the lion sleeps tonight? ? ? " Another fan wrote concisely: "The music choice is wild sorry #imacelebrity."

And someone else voiced: "WHY DO THEY DO DRAMATIC MUSIC NONE STOP. LIKE INTERSTELLAR OR SOMETHING. STOP IT ! #IMACELEB."

Despite their bemusement at the soundtrack, most enthusiasts were thrilled about the show's comeback, with one admirer enthusing: " I can tell that this year's series will be so iconic #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity.", reports the Express.

In agreement, another added: "So excited that IAC is back @antanddec @imacelebrity #imacelebrity."

The first episode also showcased the campmates vying to become initial camp leaders, undertaking various challenges to earn the desired victory.

Tulisa and Alan emerged as the winners, and they selected Danny and Barry to face the first Bushtucker trial. The duo were placed in underground chambers and tasked with unlocking stars from padlocks.

However, in typical I'm A Celebrity style, they were joined by 15 snakes while lying on the ground. During the challenge, Danny exclaimed that he had a snake in his trousers, which was later removed by an animal handler.

I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
