ITV I'm A Celebrity star Richard Coles given stern warning by Danny Jones after vile trial
by Jasmine Allday, James Brinsford · Wales OnlineReverend Richard Coles made quite the entrance into the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! camp, immediately facing a gruelling eating challenge.
The ex-Strictly Come Dancing contestant endured a tough welcome at the trial area, partaking in an eatery challenge so repulsive it challenged viewers' stomachs. Rev Coles began his ordeal with a vile concoction that quickly established the daunting nature of his trials ahead, prompting Danny Jones to bellow out a succinct warning to him.
Host Declan Donnelly introduced the Reverend's first abhorrent item, saying: "This is... 'cammovile tea'... which is fermented herring."
To this, Rev Richard responded with a grimace, dreading the thought of consuming such a nauseous beverage. Dec then instructed him: "If you could polish off that whole cup", reports the Mirror.
After confirming he had to drink the entire content, Reverend Richard exclaimed: "More tea, vicar." Maura Higgins couldn't hide her disgust as she observed Rev Richard gulping down the offensive drink, uttering: "Oh, my god."
Despite initially appearing to cope well with the trial, it wasn't long before the revolting flavour overwhelmed Rev Richard, as he fought back the urge to vomit while struggling to keep the drink down.
Pop star Danny was watching alongside his fellow campmates as the trial commenced, cautioning Richard with a firm "Don't stop". He continued to press: "Keep going, don't stop." However, it proved to be quite the challenge for Richard as he endeavoured to keep the revolting concoction down.
A difficult task indeed, as he coughed out the nasty blend, prompting Ant to fan away the scent with his cue card while remarking, "I've just got a whiff of that." From off camera, another campmate expressed their disgust: "That's really bad! " whereas Ant, pinching his nostrils, concluded, "You won't catch me drinking that."
The segment concluded without confirming whether Rev Richard manages to consume the entire disgusting drink and secure a star for the camp's evening sustenance.
Come Friday, BBC Radio 1's DJ Dean McCullough bid adieu to the main encampment for a stint in the less glamorous 'basic' site, namely the Jungle Junkyard. There, he would join new jungle residents Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles indefinitely.
His transfer to the junkyard was orchestrated by Maura and Richard, with the remaining celebrities in the main camp oblivious to the fact that the so-called inferior site is surprisingly more opulent than anticipated. While Maura and Richard profess to be barely scraping by on measly rations and devoid of any luxuries genuinely, they're unwittingly indulging in the utmost comfort.
