On Saturday's emotionally charged episode of Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly brought the show to a temporary halt for an incredibly special moment as Dianne Buswell's father was invited to send his daughter a heartwarming message.

Daly initiated the moment with heartfelt words: "Now, since week three, Chris and Dianne have had one goal - to dance live in front of Dianne's parents."

Moving on, Daly warmly greeted Dianne's parents who had come all the way from Australia: "Mark and Rina, here they are all the way from Australia, it is so lovely to see you. On behalf of all of us, the warmest welcome to you."

She continued by acknowledging the long-awaited family reunion: "I mean, we all feel like family at this point, we really do. I know you have waited seven years for this to see Dianne live."

Prompting Dianne's dad, she said, "Would you mind doing the honours, Mark, here you go," reports the Mirror.

With emotions running high, Mark read aloud: "Dancing the Paso Doble, here is Chris and our Dianne."

Post-performance, with Dianne and her dance partner Chris McCausland finishing their routine, Mark was visibly overcome with emotion.

Tess couldn't help but react to Mark's tears as she prepared to speak with the dance pair: "Mark is crying, don't make me cry, Mark."

Seeking the judges' opinions, Craig Revel Horwood praised the performance as "wonderful" yet critiqued that it "lacked the Spanish fare of this dance."

He told Chris: "I could see you going for it, however, knees were a little bit too high and you need a straight leg, but wow, strength of character there, that was a really solid performance."

Motsi Mabuse also chimed in with appreciation for the heartfelt gesture, telling them, "I think this is what Strictly is about, it is such a beautiful gesture doing this for Dianne and this moment and you are sharing this together and it's absolutely beautiful."

However, the judge noted that "in some places it was wrong" which prompted Shirley Ballas to nquire "Where?"

The head judge expressed she was "very impressed" with Dianne's performance and remarked, "there wasn't a step out of place".

Chris and Dianne earned an impressive 33 points from the judges for their routine.

Sunday night will see another celebrity leave the dance floor after facing the feared dance-off.

Bookies suggest that Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal could be the next pair at risk of leaving this weekend's contest.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
