Adorable dogs in Wales looking for loving new owners

by · Wales Online

Across the UK thousands of dogs are searching for their forever homes after experiencing difficult starts in life.

Animal rescue centres and dedicated foster carers work tirelessly throughout the year to provide vulnerable dogs with the warmth, safety, and care they need, helping to prevent animals from ending up on the streets or facing euthanasia. While their efforts transform countless lives their ultimate goal is to find each dog a loving family where they can enjoy a happy and secure future.

Every rescue dog has its own story, personality, and challenges but each also offers the opportunity to welcome a loyal and rewarding companion into your home. For the biggest stories in Wales first sign up to our daily newsletter here.

To help these deserving dogs find their perfect match rescue organisations have shared the stories of some of the pets currently waiting for adoption. Their greatest wish is to find a family of their own and enjoy the adventures, affection, and stability that come with a forever home.

Name: Charlie
Sex: Male
Age: One year old
Breed: Mastiff x Great Dane
Where: Many Tears Animal Rescue, Llanelli
The centre says: "Charlie is a handsome young Mastiff x Great Dane who came to us as a stray so we have no history of his background. When he first arrived he showed a worried side and would bark but he quickly bonded with staff and has settled in beautifully.
"Charlie is now a very affectionate and friendly boy who greets people as though he has always known them. He absolutely adores his kennel mum and loves spending time with people, happily seeking out fuss and attention – even attempting to sit on laps despite his size!"(Image: Many Tears Rescue)

Name: Laurence
Sex: Male
Age: Seven years old
Breed: Standard poodle
Where: Many Tears Animal Rescue, Llanelli
The centre says: "Laurence is a sweet boy who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a loving new home. He has been described as an absolute gentleman and it is easy to see why. Although he can be a little wary when meeting new people with a gentle and patient introduction he is quick to make friends. Once he feels comfortable Laurence will quietly slink over for more fuss and attention showing his sweet and affectionate nature."(Image: Many Tears Rescue)

Name: Chalkie
Sex: Male
Age: One year old
Breed: Maltese x poodle
Where: Many Tears Animal Rescue, Llanelli
The centre says: "Chalkie is a sweet little guy although he is currently feeling quite nervous and overwhelmed to find himself here. He can take a little time to warm up when first meeting new people and isn’t yet confident enough to take treats from us but he does begin to relax quite quickly. He finds great comfort in cosy blankets and loves to curl up and relax so we think he will truly enjoy all the comforts that home life has to offer. Beneath his initial nerves is a real little snuggle bug."(Image: Many Tears Rescue)

Name: Cassy
Sex: Female
Age: Six years old
Breed: Cavachon
Where: Many Tears Animal Rescue, Llanelli
The centre says: "Cassy is a sweet girl who has come to us from a breeder ready to start her next chapter. She is understandably a little overwhelmed at the moment and can be quite unsure initially but with time, love, and TLC she should start to come out of her shell. She briefly moved into a foster home and was settling in wonderfully but sadly she has had to return to the rescue centre as her cherry eye recurred and requires further surgical repair."(Image: Many Tears Rescue)
