ITV I'm A Celebrity star's 'culture shock' after 'struggling to adapt' to camp life
by Matt Jackson · Wales OnlineFormer I'm A Celebrity contestant Sair Khan has opened up about her time in the jungle, describing it as a "culture shock" and admitting she found it tough to adjust to camp life.
The Coronation Street star, who took part in the ITV series six years ago, recently shared some advice with fellow Corrie actor Alan Halsall before his stint Down Under.
In a chat with The Sun, Sair revealed: "I was straight on the phone to tell him my tips for an easy life. I said to him: 'If you get a choice of jobs, pick the dunny because you only have to empty it once a day.'"

Sair pointed out that other tasks, such as washing-up, are more time-consuming since they involve carrying dishes down to the water and back again. Despite the chores, she noted that there can be a lot of downtime in the camp.
She said: "But it's so boring there; if you're not doing a trial, you're sitting around, so some people want to keep busy. I personally found it really hard, the hanger [hunger and anger] was real, and the unfamiliarity. It was a culture shock for me."
Reflecting on her own experience, Sair confessed: "I didn't take to it as well as I thought I would. There are memorable moments, but I wouldn't say they were all positive."
However, she believes Alan will fare better, mentioning he "loves to sit around" and commending him for showing his true self on television, concluding with high praise from the Corrie team: "everyone at Corrie loves him", reports the Daily Record.
Sair, who has portrayed Alya Nazir since 2014, was the third to be voted off in the eighteenth series of I'm A Celebrity. The title of jungle king was ultimately won by ex-Premier League manager Harry Redknapp.
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is broadcast daily at 9pm on ITV One and ITVX.
