A well-established drug and alcohol charity in Wales is seeking a visionary CEO to guide it into its next chapter.

Kaleidoscope supports over 10,000 people annually through various projects across the country, focusing on harm reduction and transforming lives.

Since establishing its presence in Wales in 2003, the charity has become a major provider of substance use services, always putting clients at the heart of its work.

The charity is looking for a passionate advocate for social justice who can inspire change, collaborate with staff and service users, and drive innovation to keep Kaleidoscope forward-looking.

A spokesperson for Kaleidoscope said: "The recruitment process for a new CEO will begin shortly. We are committed to finding the right leader to guide Kaleidoscope into the future.

"This is a unique opportunity for someone to shape the charity's services which help vulnerable individuals discover new lives free from stigma and the burden of problematic substance use.

"So if you are passionate about making a difference and leading a dedicated team toward a brighter future, Kaleidoscope could be the perfect place for you.

"Together, we can create a Wales where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and look forward to a better future."

Big shoes to fill

The new CEO will follow in the footsteps of Martin Blakebrough, Kaleidoscope's current CEO, who is retiring after 25 years of leadership.

Martin is widely credited for his contributions to both the charity and the wider community.

Reflecting on his time at Kaleidoscope, Martin said: "Kaleidoscope is more than just a job for me.

"I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved over the past 55 years, especially in the last 20, as we expanded services across Wales and built a strong reputation.

"Kaleidoscope isn't just an organisation that wins contracts to provide services. It's a charity driven by a mission to create real change for people facing drug and alcohol issues.

"We've been a voice for change, and we've worked closely with those who use our services to truly innovate with purpose.

"I'm retiring while I still have the energy and passion for the charity I love, and I hope my successor will have the same freedom I've enjoyed to lead Kaleidoscope in exciting new directions."

More about the role

Like Martin, the new CEO's vision and strategic leadership will be essential in navigating the challenges of substance use and harm reduction.

You will be tasked with ensuring that Kaleidoscope continues to deliver impactful and sustainable services.

As CEO, you'll embody the charity's ethos of acceptance and innovation, tackling the root causes of substance use and dependency, and helping individuals find their path to recovery.

Your ability to forge strategic partnerships and develop business opportunities will be central to the charity's ongoing mission.

Salary and benefits

This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary of £80,000-£90,000 per year for 35 hours per week.

The charity's head office is based in Cardiff, so the CEO must be within commuting distance and able to travel to other sites across Wales.

Kaleidoscope offers flexible benefits, which will be agreed upon with the successful candidate.
