Halloween is rapidly approaching, and Merseyside is getting into the "spirit" of the scary season. From pumpkin carving and thriller movie marathons to full-blown haunted house experiences with plenty of fake blood, Halloween is an unmissable date for lovers of all things horrifying.
While some households are satisfied with a hollowed-out pumpkin with a sinister smile, others are going all out, with towering displays, music and lights.
One such spectacle can be found on Grosvenor Road in Prenton, where electrician Dean Simpson has put together a haunted house with an enormous skeleton breaking out of the garden lawn.

Daniel says Halloween is his favourite season - even though our British displays are typically more modest than those seen in America.
4 of 9He said: "Halloween seems to be a States thing more than Britain. It does seem to be getting bigger than it used to be. There's a few houses with decorations in our area, but none quite so big."
5 of 9"Some people have been a bit scared, but a lot of people have been taking pictures with their kids sitting on the wall. You don't see much like this, especially in the Prenton area. People are quite taken aback by how realistic some of it looks."

"I like what I've achieved. Some of the American displays are unbelievable. Maybe one day I'll be as good as them, but it's good enough for now."
