Zoopla has revealed their most viewed properties in Merseyside in September. They include properties in Walton, Kirkby, Norris Green and Huyton and range in asking price from £100,000 to £300,000. The ECHO frequently picks properties on the market to put the spotlight on but these are often unusual and expensive character properties overlooking golf courses or which are hundreds of years old and are outside the reach of most people's wallets.

But this list of properties you will see below are much more like the houses that most of us actually live in, or would like to own.

The Government has recently unveiled a scheme to give first-time buyers in England a helping hand onto the property ladder, with further details set to be outlined in the Budget.

The Your First Home initiative was unveiled at the weekend and will give first-time buyers the chance to buy a new-build property with a 2.5% deposit, with the Government stepping in to lend them an extra 20% towards the cost.
