Teen Mom's Jenelle Evans Gives Update on Coparenting With Ex David Eason

Jenelle Evans gave an update on her coparenting dynamic with ex David Eason.

"For me to allow someone to come back into my life, I have to scope the situation," the Teen Mom 2 alum, 34, said in a video shared via Instagram on Thursday, July 9. "And I have to see if old patterns present themselves again. If you know what I mean."

Evans claimed that her ex-husband "used to lash out a lot online" during the course of their relationship. (The MTV personality was married to Eason from 2017 to 2025 and the exes share daughter Ensley, 9, whom they welcomed in January 2017.)

"He used to post whatever he wanted to," she alleged. "He used to be very unhinged, arrogant [and] didn't really care about people's feelings."

The former reality star explained that she privately asked Eason to "stop" multiple times but he seemingly did not want to listen to her.

"He wouldn't take my advice. He didn't care at all," she said. "He just cared about defending himself."

However, Evans has noticed that Eason took the time to work on himself and those alleged behaviors have dissipated.

"Now he cares more about peace, I notice," she recalled. "And I see more maturity and growth in him lately, I will say."

Evans added that while she and Eason are on good terms now, they're choosing to not publicly share when they're spending time together.

"I think that's one of the main reasons why we're not posting too much right now because we don't know where we're at," she explained. "We just know that we're coparenting and it's working and everyone's getting along so we're liking that a lot and we're gonna continue on that path and hopefully things just stay peaceful."

As Evans and Eason have improved their coparenting dynamic, she is also working on her relationships with her other children's fathers. (Evans shares son Jace, 16, with ex Andrew Lewis and son Kaiser, 12, with ex Nathan Griffith.)

"All I ever wanted for my kid was to have a peaceful coparenting relationship with each of their fathers," she said. "So far, I'm doing it with two."

Last month, Evans was asked by fans if she would consider rekindling her relationship with Eason - and she didn't completely shut down the idea.

"Not gonna lie, he has been helping me out a lot lately because of my leg - I have to get surgery next week on my knee," she responded to a fan during a June Instagram Q&A. "So yah, I'm going to be using him for a lot more help while I have my surgery."
