Taylor Lautner and Wife Tay Welcome 1st Baby, Reveal Sweet Name

Taylor Lautner and wife Tay Lautner are officially parents after welcoming their first baby girl.

"One week loving our sweet little Lenny🤍," the couple wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, alongside the first photo of their newborn. "Lennon Taylor Lautner🎀 9.16.2026."

Taylor, 34, and Tay, 29, announced in March that they were expanding their family.

"What's better than two Taylor Lautners?🤍," they captioned a joint Instagram post featuring photos of the couple posing in a field of flowers while wearing white outfits and holding ultrasound scans.

Taylor and Tay began dating in late 2017 after being introduced by his sister, Makena Moore. The pair tied the knot in November 2022.

"Tay always told me she didn't want anything big or elaborate; she preferred something intimate," Taylor told Vogue of his marriage proposal. "One night, she suggested I just do it in the kitchen over dinner and a glass of wine. So I ended up doing it in the kitchen, but I did it big in the kitchen."

Two years before the pregnancy announcement, Tay opened up to Us exclusively about their hesitations over starting a family.

"Sometimes we get a little nervous. How do we raise kids [who] are going to be able to speak up for themselves or feel like they can talk to us about this? It scares me," the registered nurse said. "How do you raise a child now? I'm very thankful for people like Dr. [Daniel] Amen and a lot of my friends have kids or are just having kids. Getting to watch them walk through it and having the support from people like Dr. Amen to help facilitate independence or whatever it may be is great."

However, Tay knew she eventually wanted to have children with Taylor.

"Definitely [at] some time at some point, there will be [kids]," she added. "He's a gem. He's my golden retriever - that's what I call him. He's just joy on Earth."

Taylor previously expressed interest in becoming a father during a 2016 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"Yes, I absolutely love kids, I love family," he said at the time. "So, one day, I very much look forward to that."

The couple also teased their family plans in a joint interview with Cosmopolitan in January.

"Nobody puts more pressure on it than Tay's parents," Taylor said, while his wife added, "We haven't tried having children. We don't know if it's going to be a struggle, so there's no negative connotation around it."

Taylor continued, "I'm ready when she is. I think we're getting closer."

Tay also said she and Taylor were in no rush to take the next step in their marriage.

"Being an only child, I grew up wanting to be married and have kids young. But when I met Taylor, I was like, ‘Oh, I'm not actually in a rush to get engaged or get married,'" she explained. "When you're with the right person, there isn't any pressure. It's the same thing with kids. I'm really just loving life so much now. I've found this love for my career, which I think is so special. Not to say you can't do both. The two of us can pick up and go whenever we want - I'm trying to get Taylor to do a couple of months in New York. You've said no, but I'm not going to let it die. Maybe we go to New York, and then I'll give you a baby."
