Lynk & Co Time to Shine concept in Beijing – two-door, 2+2 coupe GT with deployable aero; 0-100 km/h in 2s

Lynk & Co showed its first-ever GT concept car at this year’s Auto China to celebrate its 10th anniversary, although the brand isn’t confirming if a production version is on its way.

Called ‘Time to Shine’, the concept takes the form of a sporty two-door coupe with 2+2 seating that was designed as part of a joint collaboration between the company’s European and Chinese teams. Highlights include a wide stance as well as a long bonnet, the latter being heavily sculpted and featuring vents to channel air hitting the aero-focused face.

Muscular shoulders are also another hallmark of the Time to Shine, along with a deployable rear wing, sizeable rear diffuser and uniquely shaped glass roof that is split into two sections.

According to Lynk & Co, the concept measures 4,780 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, 1,330 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, with the exterior paint finish called Apex Blue. You’ll also notice Spark Yellow accents in some of the photos, which is a reference to the brand’s racing heritage.

The vibrant hue is seen on some components that are deployed when the ‘+’ button on the centre console is pressed. This places the car in a sort of performance mode and sees the suspension lowered by 15 mm while aerodynamic elements at the front and rear extend out to increase the vehicle’s length by 100 mm.

At the same time, the instrument panel and three digital screens inside the cabin fold away to ensure the driver isn’t distracted, although we’re finding it hard to peel our eyes away from the exceptionally glitzy steering wheel.

As for performance, the Time to Shin is said to feature rear-wheel drive as well as a track-inspired chassis with advanced vehicle motion control supported by artificial intelligence. The company adds that performance figures indicate a 0-100 km/h time of just two seconds with sustained high power delivery.
