2025 Christmas travel time advisory issued for KL-Karak, East Coast Expressway LPT1 on Dec 25 and 28

Highway operator AFA Prime (formerly known as ANIH) has issued its travel time advisory for this year’s Christmas period, for December 25 and 28 on the KL-Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), where traffic is expected to be heavier during the holiday period.

For travellers starting their journeys on December 25 from Kuala Lumpur or Selangor, entering at the Gombak toll plaza, the recommended travel times are from 12pm to 4pm or 8pm to 11pm for travelling towards Pahang, 9am to 12pm or 8pm to 11pm for travelling towards Terengganu, and 6am to 9am or 5pm to 11pm for travelling towards Kelantan.

For those travelling back into Kuala Lumpur or Selangor, the recommended travel times are 7am to 10am or 7pm to 11pm from Pahang (entering at all toll plazas), from 10am to 1pm or 8pm to 11pm from Terengganu (entering at the Jabor toll plaza), and 4pm to 8pm or 9pm to 12am from Kelantan (entering at the Bentong toll plaza). Travel recommendations are open between midnight at 6am on both days.

For express buses heading towards East Coast destinations, the prescribed travel times are from 9:30am to 12pm and from 9:30pm to 12am. Users of light vehicles are advised to avoid entering the Gombak toll plaza at these times.
