The Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 EVs are now on display at the lobby of the Sunway Pinnacle office tower in Bandar Sunway. The two electric models will be there from 8am to 7pm daily till this Saturday, October 12. One can place a booking on the spot.

Order books for the Zeekr X and 009 were opened last week by the Geely-owned brand’s official distributor in Malaysia. Sentinel Automotive. The compact SUV’s indicative pricing is RM180,000 and below, while the 009’s estimated price is RM370,000 and below. Booking fees are RM2,000 and RM4,000 respectively, and the sum is fully refundable.

We’ve covered both EVs for some time now, but here’s a recap. The Zeekr X is built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), which also underpins the smart #1 and #3, as well as the just-launched smaller Volvo EX30.

The X will be offered in two variants, namely the Premium RWD and Flagship AWD. Both feature a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with a nett energy capacity of 66 kWh (69 kWh gross), with the Premium RWD capable of 440 km WLTP range. The RWD gets a 272 PS (200 kW) and 343 Nm motor, which gets the X from 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The 428 PS (315 kW) and 543 Nm dual-motor variant does it in 3.8 seconds, while range is 420 km.

Both support up to 150 kW of DC fast charging, enabling a 10-80% SoC top up in around 30 minutes. The max AC charging rate is 7.2 kW for the Premium RWD and 11 kW for the Flagship AWD – a full charge takes about seven hours. More on the Zeekr X here.

As for the 009, think of it as an electric alternative to the Toyota Alphard/Vellfire. At 5,209 mm long, 2,024 mm wide and 1,848 mm tall, with a 3,205 mm wheelbase, Zeekr’s luxe box has a larger footprint and longer wheelbase than the popular Toyota.

We’re matching Thailand in terms of specifications, as the headline figures include a 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, a 116-kWh battery and WLTP range of 582 km. This is of the updated version of the MPV that first made its debut in Hong Kong in July.

But while our neighbours get the 009 in a sole variant called the Flagship AWD with six seats, we’re getting two variants called the Luxury (seven-seater) and Ultra Luxury (six-seater). The former is new for the 009 and has a 2-2-3 seat layout, with executive seats that aren’t as wide as the those in the Ultra Luxury (2-2-2 layout). This allows for an aisle in the middle for easy access to the last row bench.

Both variants feature a dual-motor setup rated at 612 PS (450 kW) and 693 Nm, with an NMC battery that supports DC fast charging at a max rate of 150 kW – 10-80% SoC is achieved in 30 minutes. Air suspension and a 30-speaker Yamaha sound system are among the equipment highlights – full details on the 009 here.
