How to craft an Intricate Key in Valheim
· PCGamesNAs if the tundra, huge enemies, and cutting wind weren't bad enough in the Valheim Deep North biome, you'll have to contend with locked doors, too. If you're brave enough to venture out into the cold, you may come across ruins that contain huge ornate doors that require a very specific Intricate Key to unlock.
As with any difficult area in Valheim, you'll want to make sure you're prepared before setting foot outside of your sanctuary - if your equipment isn't quite up to scratch, check out our Valheim item spawn guide for a shortcut. Getting a hold of an Intricate Key might take you a minute, but it's vital if you want to explore the depths of the Deep North.
How to craft a Valheim Intricate Key
An Intricate Key isn't something that you find in Valheim - it's something that you must craft using the new cast forging system. You need to find an Intricate Key mould first, using that to craft an Intricate Key cast on the Black Forge. Once you have an Intricate Key cast, you can add it to the Frost Foundry to create the finished item.
Where to find Intricate Key moulds
Intricate Key moulds are dropped by enemies and found in piles of rubble in the tunnels beneath settlements in the Deep North. The entrance to these tunnels is usually found inside the biggest hall. Be on your guard when inside the tunnels, as it's very easy to get lost, and the tight confines of the maze-like passages are a nightmare to fight in.
