If you’ve been on the fence about picking up Dragon’s Dogma 2 – or just waiting for it to drop in price – the time is now. The highly-anticipated sequel to Capcom’s beloved 2012 RPG was finally released in March 2024, offering to scratch our post-Baldur’s Gate 3 itch. Reactions have been mixed, however, with comparisons to Larian’s 2023 masterpiece inevitable – and not always flattering. If, like me, the mixed reviews (and almost $80 price tag) mean you’ve held off on picking up Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’re in luck. As part of Fanatical’s Birthday Bash sale, you can save over 50% on the Deluxe Edition of Dragon’s Dogma 2- and make up your own mind on it.

Despite its mixed reception, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is easily considered one of the best RPGs of 2024. In our Dragon’s Dogma 2 review, Nat Smith praised the “on-foot traversal, hands-off quest design, and dialogue straight out of a Shakespeare in the Park production,” but noted this may not be to everyone’s taste. You won’t know until you try it for yourself, and Fanatical’s sale is the perfect chance to do just that.

Right now, you can pick up Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Standard and Deluxe Edition for their lowest price yet, with the Standard Edition price slashed from $69.99 / £53.98 to $37.09 / £28.60 (47% off) and the Deluxe Edition discounted from $79.99 / £65.98 to $39.19 / £32.33 (51% off). If you’re considering this sale: go for the Deluxe Edition. For just $2 more, you get the base game and the A Boon for Adventurers – New Journey Pack, which includes the Explorer’s Camping Kit, the Dragon’s Dogma Music & Sound Collection, a bunch of handy items (including a Wakestone and Gaol Key), and 1500 Rift Crystals.

At this price, I’m sorely tempted to finally pick up Dragon’s Dogma 2 for myself. After all, I’ve been looking for a chunky RPG to sink my teeth into, especially one with an abundance of side quests to lure me off the beaten track. What’s more, with Capcom finally resolving the frustrating PC performance issues we noted in our review, now is the perfect time to give it a whirl – while saving your bank account a walloping. Merry Christmas, to me.

In addition to Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Fanatical Birthday Bash Sale also has:
