For those that have been waiting for Black Friday to bag a serious deal on a high-end gaming monitor, this might be the deal you’ve been waiting for. Asus has dropped the price of the Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDM OLED gaming monitor to a new low, bringing this ultra capable display to a more sensible price.

With specs easily able to to put this monitor right near the top of our best gaming monitor recommendations, this Asus display aims to deliver stunning image quality and fantastic gaming performance. Whether you’re after pin-sharp 4K visuals or just want to take advantage of that blazing 240Hz refresh rate, it can turn its hand to all sorts.

That raw refresh rate number is impressive enough but it also combines with the ultra-fast response time that’s inherent to OLED panel technology. While LCDs amble along with response times of a few milliseconds (~3ms on average), this panel’s response is just a few tens of microseconds (0.03ms) – that’s 100x faster. As a result, fast-paced games look totally free of ghosting.

The OLED advantages don’t stop there as the panel’s 3,840 x 2,160 pixels can turn completely off to create a stunning contrast level of 1,500,000:1. Those pixels can also deliver dazzling colors – enhanced with Samsung’s quantum dot (QD) technology – able to produce amazing-looking HDR.

A crucial advantage of QD-OLED is that it produces a slightly sharper image than LG’s competing WOLED tech, for any given pixel density. That means that while you’re already getting a very sharp 140 pixels per inch here, you’re actually getting an ever so slightly crisper image than competing panels such as the LG Ultragear 32GS95UE.

The only disadvantage up to this point with this display has been its high price that was originally $1,299. However, thanks to today’s Black Friday deal (technically it’s a Cyber Monday deal, but who’s counting) on Amazon you can grab it for just $999 via this link. That’s still a lot of money, obviously, but it’s a much more palatable price than before and decent value overall for an OLED gaming monitor, with them generally still demanding a high price compared to LCD displays.

For our UK readers, this display is also currently discounted but by only 17%, though this still puts this panel at its lowest price yet. You can find it for sale via this link.
