Have You Seen This? No one gets left behind
by Alex Tumalip ksl · KSL.comHONOLULU — Heartbreaking. Devastating. We need Noah's ark to come by.
Those were my thoughts as a Hawaii kid, born and raised, looking at the pictures of the state's worst flooding since it was pounded by 43 consecutive days of rain (yes, you read that right) in 2006.
And yet, I also know we locals are a resilient bunch, and we always find ways to "malama our 'ohana," or "take care of our family," as Budda's Bakery in Pleasant Grove, and many other restaurants with ties to the 50th State here in Utah, are doing right now.
That includes our furry friends, as local paddleboarder Jacqueline Bensaid showed up for some dogs recently.
Let what Bensaid did be a reminder for all of us to "malama pono kekahi i kekahi," or "take care of one another," today and every day.
